Ubuntu 22.04:
The gstreamer!2459 fix is in gstreamer1.0-vaapi version 1.20.3 which is
now in Ubuntu 22.10. Can anyone confirm the fix?

This also affects me too. It's more of an annoyance (at least in my
case), as clicking the back arrow in the top left corner, and then
clicking on the video thumbnail temporarily fixes the issue. It's
opening video files directly that causes this glitch for me.

The screenshot in comment #2 looks somewhat like the many VAAPI bugs I
fixed circa 2017. They're really hard to debug and to fix. Although this
bug may not be VAAPI but some other problem with the new OpenGL
renderer. I would not expect the log in comment #5 to give any hints.
