Public bug reported: OPTIONS ERROR: failed to negotiate cipher with server. Add the server's cipher ('AES-256-CBC') to --data-ciphers (currently 'AES-256-GCM:AES-128-GCM:CHACHA20-POLY1305') if you want to connect to this server.
So basically some servers won't be supported anymore because unsupported '--cipher' option is used instead of '--data-ciphers' A fix is available at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/NetworkManager- openvpn/-/merge_requests/46 ** Affects: network-manager-openvpn Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Jeremy Bicha (jbicha) Status: Triaged ** Tags: rls-kk-incoming ** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/NetworkManager-openvpn/-/issues #97 https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/NetworkManager-openvpn/-/issues/97 ** Also affects: network-manager-openvpn via https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/NetworkManager-openvpn/-/issues/97 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Summary changed: - Data ciphers are not properly configured with opevpn 2.6 + Data ciphers are not properly configured with openvpn 2.6 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to network-manager-openvpn in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1991493 Title: Data ciphers are not properly configured with openvpn 2.6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/network-manager-openvpn/+bug/1991493/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
