Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

If I browse to a network server in Nautilus by typing in the location,
Nautilus makes an icon on my desktop representing that location.
Throughout my day I browse to a large number of SMB and SSH and FTP
servers and by the end of my day the entire desktop is covered in
unwanted icons. This did not happen with Nautilus prior to the GVFS
conversion.

Nautilus should make a distinction between simple use of a network
resource and "mounting" that resource as a desktop icon.

Using Hardy i386.

ii gvfs 0.1.11-0ubuntu userspace virtual filesystem - server
ii nautilus 1:2.21.92svn20 file manager and graphical shell for GNOME

** Affects: gvfs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
