I have a hunch that the old pie chart was flooding (DOSing) the display
server with updates for large transfers. Anyway, if the pie chart isn't
showing at all then we can't tell if the root cause has been fixed.

Just updated to 23.04 and this behavior is gone. Now when I click
another window while the pie-chart dialog is showing, it dismisses the
dialog.
Kinda weird it needs to dismiss prior to changing windows (because it
takes one more click to actually switch windows) but much better
behavior than bef
One more video showing how the dialog dominates the UI.
In the video I open a terminal and put a sleep (so I can setup the UI
dialog) in front of executing google-chrome as a simple example.
At the end of the video, the UI is still locked up but you can see the
copy dialog not behind the new wind
