Apologies again for the slow reply, and thanks for accepting this into
jammy-proposed.
I've tested and I can verify that nautilus 1:42.6-0ubuntu1 from jammy-
proposed fixes the bug per the above test case, and otherwise nautilus
seems to continue work well and as expected (I did some

Accepted nautilus into jammy-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/1:42.6-0ubuntu1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/2018 upstream and fixed
in the current Ubuntu serie, there is also a fix in a newer 42 version.
We will work on issuing a stable update including the fix
