Hi there,
Forget about this BUG, after messing with my DSDT file with some help,
I've fixed it: it's a BIOS bug, and has been fixed in correctly setting
the DSDT file.
Thank you for looking into, and sorry for wasting your time, wasn't my
intention. I appreciate you help,
Patrick

Patrick,

Oh-uh.. Can you please upgrade your Karmic installation to the current
packages and try again with 008? This fixed a plethora of bugs. If it
still happens, can you please regenerate the logs?

some acpi laptops erroneously report 'discharging' while on AC
Ok, here it goes. Nothing has changed.
The devkit-power -m output order is the following:
1.-Running of Battery power
2.-Plug in AC
3.-Pull out AC
By the way, something seems to be very broken: in Jaunty, even though I
get discharging/charged wrong, it gives correct information about the
Thanks. Can you please also do
sudo killall devkit-power-daemon ; sudo /usr/lib/devicekit-power/devkit-
power-daemon -v 21 | tee /tmp/dkp.log
then wait a bit (~ 30 seconds), pull out AC cable, wait some more, plug
it back in, wait again, and then press Control-C. Please attach
/tmp/dkp.log here.
Hi there,
attachment made from my Karmic install.
Hope it helps.

I also attach the same command done in Jaunty, in case it helps.
From what I can see, when pluging in the AC, the battery goes from
unknown to discharging and the ac from off to online. You'll see that in

Strange uh?

If hal and devicekit-power have the same behaviour, then it's probably a
kernel bug; however, let's keep it at dk-power for now.
Can you please copypaste the output of devkit-power -d, and then
start devkit-power -m, plug in/pull out the AC cord (with the battery
in place, of course :) ), and
Here it goes, hope it helps

I'm still having this issue!
When the battery is full, it goes to discharging.
When unplugging the AC, it goes to charged.
