Ok, I upgraded to Hardy today and the problem is gone. Sorry for taking
your time.
But on Gutsy, I just had an image on my desktop and I renamed it, which
caused the thumbnail to be replaced by a default image, and back into
the thumbnail. But the problem is gone in 2.22, so nothing to worry
about
Thank you for your bug report. How do you rename the file? If you use
nautilus the thumbnail should not need to be updated, that works
correctly on hardy and should be working on gutsy too
