Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-nettool
Initial problem is that on bootup, wireless interface is not up. Have to run ifup wlan0 manually to bring it up. In an effort to find the root of the problem, I started gnome-nettool via System/Administration/Network Tools, selected wlan0 from the Network Device dropdown, and clicked on Configure. This produces an error dialog box that says "The interface does not exist. Check that it is correctly typed and that it is correctly supported by your system." I tried the Configure button with the eth0 and wmaster0 interfaces and got the same error. Running Hardy 8.04 beta, downloaded 2008-03-21. gnome-nettool is version 2.22.0-0ubuntu1 Machine is a Toshiba U305-S2804 (laptop) Relevant output from lspci: 03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
