Not sure if you are asking me Sebastien but I am running Kubuntu Hardy. The Compiz Desktop Effects window pops up from the KDE System/Desktop Effects menu. Seems like exactly the same bug though? -- Setting Visual effects to None is ignored when logging in again

I can confirm this bug. I'm running Kubuntu Hardy and I can change System/Desktop Effects to None and it turn Compiz off for the rest of that session but Compiz comes back after next reboot. [PS. Compiz looks great and I've been running it for a few months now but boy it is buggy, at least on
