Sabastien, are you saying that my comments about this same bug are not
appropriate here because I use KDE? I'm not familiar with the ubuntu bug
process but should I really have to raise another bug with exactly the
same title and description but assigned to a different ubuntu package?

Not sure if you are asking me Sebastien but I am running Kubuntu Hardy.
The Compiz Desktop Effects window pops up from the KDE System/Desktop
Effects menu. Seems like exactly the same bug though?

I can confirm this bug.
I'm running Kubuntu Hardy and I can change System/Desktop Effects to
None and it turn Compiz off for the rest of that session but Compiz
comes back after next reboot.
[PS. Compiz looks great and I've been running it for a few months now
but boy it is buggy, at least on
