Public bug reported: In order to add OpenPGP keys to launchpad, the website guides you through synchronizing your key with the Ubuntu key server first by using Seahorse ("Passwords and Keys").
You can manually trigger a sync from the hamburger menu > Sync and publish keys > Sync. However in my Ubuntu 24.04 fresh install this step silently fails. The journal shows: `gpg-agent[191732]: can't connect to the daemon /usr/lib/gnupg/scdaemon: IPC connect call failed` ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: seahorse 43.0-3build2 Uname: Linux 6.9.3-060903-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.28.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Tue Jun 18 10:58:01 2024 InstallationDate: Installed on 2024-06-16 (2 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS "Noble Numbat" - Release amd64 (20240424) SourcePackage: seahorse UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: seahorse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Alessandro Astone (aleasto) Status: Triaged ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug noble wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to seahorse in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2069709 Title: Seahorse silently fails to sync PGP keys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/seahorse/+bug/2069709/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
