A refinement (in 10.10 2.6.35-25-generic #44-Ubuntu) is that whilst the
dialog is locked for mouse input, it is still possible to TAB around to
action the buttons which otherwise are not accessible via the mouse.

This should've been marked Triaged by myself, as there should be enough

Thank you guys.

I can confirm this in Jaunty. If 2 users are logged in, and 1 logs out, the
locked screen dialog only allows you to type a password to unlock it. The
buttons are locked, i.e. Leave Message, Unlock, etc.
Marking as Confirmed - Medium Importance - medium severity with core
application.

If logout would be followed by gdm-greeter, there would not be an option
to return to a session. Anyway, I can't reproduce the second part. I
mean all the buttons work in gnome-screensaver (Version:
2.24.0-0ubuntu2) unlock dialog. (gdm Version: 2.20.8-0ubuntu3). I am
using Intrepid.

Both elements of this bug still occur for me:
1) On logout if 2 or more users are logged in I am returned to the locked
screen dialog instead of the gdm-greeter.
2) When I reach the locked screen dialog through the steps above it is not
possible to click any of the buttons. Workarounds if you do
do you still get the issue in intrepid?

A slightly easier workaround is to just press alt+s at the locked
