Thanks for the bug report. What you are seeing isn't a compositor freeze
but rather just the app window failing to get a new texture. The
compositor assumes there is one so it doesn't render the pixels
underneath and you get a flickering mess of previous frames...

1. I get the same behavior with any apps (Evolution, terminal...)
2. The command gnome-extension was not found, maybe because I'm using KDE
Desktop (Ubuntu Studio 24.10)?
