Åskar, congratulations with the promotion :) It should be enough to
revert the last change I did in 3:2.10.8-1ubuntu2, that is, the
-1ubuntu1 version should build it successfully.

Thanks, that's a good start. But the report itself should be a wiki page
(with a link to that bug).

The report is here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libiptcdata/+bug/238855
However I understand that the report propably is not very good, but it
is as good as I can do it im afraid.. I thought it was better to at
least have something than nothing..

I have not tried to make a maininclusionreport for libiptcdata0. I do
not know if I made it correctly..perhaps someone else can make some
small changes needed?

This is included in the 2.10.8 source (that has been uploaded to
Intrepid). However, the libiptcdata package is in universe, while gthumb
is in main.

You r
I strongly agree with Joel. IPTC is a standard used by many
photographers and the gthumbdevelopers has made it supported in gthumb.
There is absolutly no reason this is built without IPTC-support in
Ubuntu. My guess is that the one responsible for this package perhaps
did not think iptc was needed.
