I have some new information, it seems that on boot, the touchpad
settings are applied correctly, but then it seems that the kernel loses
connection to the touchpad and reconnects, but once it does this, then
the touchpad settings are lost
here is a kern.log file showing some interestering lines on
the issue is an xorg one, the capplet only apply the settings
