yes all those issues have already reported, there is several bugs
mentionning background handling not being idea, the thumbnail against
normal icon thing might have been rejected because most people like the
current way better and it makes easier to see what is in the image and
the dnd issue is
Isn't there even a chance to get a slider in the Nautilus options which
sets the size of the preview?

there is several bugs on launchpad mentionning fonts installation, the
fonts location in nautilus, etc, there is just too many duplicate filed
so don't expect bug triagers to search exact numbers for you though
