You should check that the type of the GConf key in
/apps/nautilus/list_view/default_visible_columns is actually a List of
Strings. The crash is coming from an assertion checking that this key is
of the correct type.

the stacktrace lacks debug symbols, could you install
libglib2.0-0-dbgsym libgtk2.0-0-dbgsym libeel2-2-dbgsym and get a new
stacktrace? it's likely a broken gconf key value in your user
configuration

I can't create a backtrace because gdb tells QUIT after the nautilus
start...
Anyways... again using tail -f .xsession-errors i see this:
