Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I am running Hardy Heron (8.04.1 fully up to date and with backports
etc.) on a Dell Latitude D830. When I run Evolution (2.22.3.1-0ubuntu1)
deleted items are not displayed with a strikethrough (they are on my
desktop system which has an almost identical setup on the SW side of
things).

Also when composing an e-mail the cursor does not always update and can
leave behind "ghost" cursors which only disappear when you force an
update of that bit of the window (e.g. by editing the text).

Both these problems are purely in the graphical display - the underlying
software seems to work OK - but can be quite annoying, particularly the
cursor problem. I have no equivalent problems in any other pieces of
software.

I am running compiz, but the problem seems to appear even without compiz
running. I am using the 169.12 version of the nvidia drivers on a Quadro
NVS 140M at a resolution of 1920x1200. Changing resolution does not make
any difference either

To reproduce:

Connect to IMAP for e-mail.
Disable "Hide Deleted Items"
Delete or move a mail.
Deleted item is not displayed with strikethrough. Ctrl-E to expunge removes
mail.

Compose mail
Type some text
Move cursor using cursor buttons.
After a while cursor may disappear or fail to be cleared correctly leaving
vertical lines interspersed in your text.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks

     Joe
