I also had camera working on Hardy in camorama and skype, but now it's
not working. I've got /dev/video0 but no picture in skype or camorama.

Camera works with XawTV and Ekiga but not with Skype!!

It got the cam to work 100% in intrepid Release Can... I had to compile an
older kernel, but it is working.
Today the updated kernel hit the repo 2.6.27-7-generic
and well cam video is gone again

I guess, the duplicate status of this bug is wrong. It starts with a
report, that /dev/videoX is not created when plugging a "gspca"-webcam.
This is also my problem, running Ubuntu 8.10 with a 2.6.27-8-generic
