you can use caldav calender to sync with google calender in both ways.

In my case (Ubuntu 9.04), syncing only works the other way around:
appointments added in Evolution are successfully synced to Google
Calendar, but I don' t see any appointments created in Google Calendar.
So, the only appointments I can see in Evolution are those I explicitly
created there.

Still present in Ubuntu 9.04 (Evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu1).
In my case any new appointment I made on Evolution calendar are recorded as
appointment in the same day starting from 12.00 AM and lasting for 24 hours.
Even after editing the event in Google Calendar, Evolution still records it as
a 24
I have ubuntu 9.04, sync still not working :(. (read-only)
