Just want to add that this problem is the same without selecting "Detect LAN
printers", so it has not to do with the LAN, as suggested in the original
description.

As reported in the duplicate bugs, the biggest problem is maybe that there is
no progress/busy indication, so the user thinks something is wrong or keep
clicking Add Printer.
My own investigation tells me that it is the communication with the cups
server, downloading lists of all printer driver
