I don't know when exactly it was fixed. But I can confirm - in my ubuntu same pdf document is now correctly displayed after rotation. Maybe it has something to do with installation adobe reader 8 (I was forced to do that)? -- PDF becomes unreadable when rotated https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269
