These crashes always happen when I just log in to gdm (GNOME desktop).
I.e. when I first log out from gdm, wait a while and then log in again.
Or when I switch users: staying one user logged in, while another use
hum.. that's annoying indeed. I do not know how you can get a backtrace at
start-up. Someone will tell you how to do that.
Can you post your ~/.xsession-errors please.
