While this bug doesn't affect solving the Sudoku puzzle, it leaves a bad
impression--especially for a newbie, who may try playing the game during
his/her initial trial of Ubuntu. After all, timing how long it took you
to solve the puzzle is 'obviously' easy. E.g., just save computer's
clock at star
As for disabling auto save, I don't see a way to do that.

Actually, it appears that a patch has been submitted for this problem
(see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=556932#c10). I don't
know how long it will take for this to filter through to Ubuntu. Maybe
it will be fixed in Lucid.

Dear Mal,
Thank you. It looks like an obvious solution that I should have thought of.
Oh well! Someone had to discover gravity.

I have also found that Sudoku in Karmic always reports game times of
about 58 seconds.
After having a bit of a look around the source, it seems that the
problem relates to the autosave function. Autosave is triggered ever 60
seconds (or the time set by gconf /apps/gnome-
sudoku/auto_save_interval
Yes, it worked in 8.04, 8.10, 9.04. It's really no big deal because it
doesn't affect the game play in anyway. The only problem is no one believes

Confirmed - still wrong in Karmic. I got 56 seconds reported total and
elapsed times (both the same - that bit is as I expected) which is just
not possible for the game with all the notes I made. See screenshot!

With so many confirmations I am not sure how it remains unconfirmed
upstream. Is there anything I can do to help resolve this? Peace -

Reassigning to gnome-games. I can confirm this as well with gnome-games
1:2.24.1-0ubuntu2. I just played a game for about 20 minutes and it
reported 20-something hours. I've also had the 58 second problem. Here's
another game I just played to test:
