Public bug reported: Binary package hint: seahorse
First, where is the documentation that gnome-keyring-manager has been replaced by seahorse? How about telling me about this change when I type gnome-keyring-manager like I used to. Google shows several threads in various places where people have the same problem. Very frustrating, and essentially a regression, to replace a program with something with a different name and not auto-redirect people who only know the old name. Now on to my bug. I want to view the original WPA passphrase currently stored in my keyring for a particular wireless network. I used to used gnome-keyring-manager for this purpose and it worked. It looks like this is supposed to be the "password/show password" drop- down in the "properties" dialog that comes up from each entry in the "passwords" tab in seahorse. However, when I do this all I see is a long apparrently hexadecimal string. That is not what I want. I want the original ascii string I typed in the first time network manager asked me for a password for this network. ** Affects: seahorse (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- seahorse does not show original wpa passphrase https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291260 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to seahorse in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
