ubuntu is an opensource project and the bug work is mostly done by
contributors there is apparently nobody around who has knowledge about
the gnome-menus code that's why such changes should rather go upstream
directly, thank you for sending the bug to GNOME now

What more than 2 persons reporting the same bug and providing the same very
simple and obvious patch is needed to move an Ubuntu bug out of New status 3
months after it's been reported?

that I have a file in /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged/ doing the
file ... for the .desktop I want removed.
