Ok, I haven't seen this message. My mistake!
So, I opened the Font preference tool and I choose a font in the list.
Never add any font.

What information do you need? I sent a screenshot so you can see what is the
problem.
I can't tell if it's a problem of the gnome-terminal or the fontconfig or... :
I'm a new Linux's user, not a programmer and a simple user who reported a
problem.

where did you find that font? I'm not convinced that a gnome-terminal
issue and not due to the font or fontconfig, reassigning on vte which is
does the rendering part

I guess this is the same problem. The default font for Terminal in Hoary was
ideal for me: correct size and elegant. In dapper, it is too small and has some
weired behaviour, specially with numerals. (I do have an x window dump of the
behaviour, but don't know how to attach it here.)
