Not a bug. VLC disables the screensaver by default when playing video,
so if you are running it, the screensaver will not activate.

As an after thought, I had a quick look around on vlc's site, I found out
there's a feature in vlc to disable the screensaver while playing video.
Preferences > Video, check the "Advanced options" box and uncheck the "Disable
screensaver" option.
Everything works fine now. It's actually a prett

I'm having this problem as well...no matter what amount of time I set in
Screensaver Prefs (I tried 10, 5, and 1 minutes), the screensaver never
