Thanks for your bug. What does gnome-menu-spec-test | grep gedit do?
Do you have a ~/.local/share/applications/gedit.destkop for that user?

Yes not upstream, it has been filled automatically as this and I wasn't sure
how to close it.
My weird user :
$ gnome-menu-spec-test | grep gedit
$
$ ls ~/.local/share/applications/gedit.destkop

Running update-menu with my new user solved the problem.
Deleting all local gedit and killing the panel solved the problem as
well.
But that should not occur in the first place.
