Printing large (3264x2448) JPEG images from eog or F-Spot worked fine under Hardy but is broken after upgrading to Intrepid, with all updates and pending updates applied, using CUPS 1.3.9-2ubuntu6 and 1.3.9-2ubuntu4. When I print a large image from eog or F-Spot to an HP DeskJet 6980, I get "/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed". In the cups log, I get (/usr/lib/cups/filter/cpdftocps) exited with no errors. Starting renderer with command: "gs -sstdout=%stderr -dBATCH -dPARANOIDSAFER -dQUIET -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=ijs -sIjsServer=hpijs -sDeviceManufacturer="HEWLETT-PACKARD" -sDeviceModel="deskjet 5600" -dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS=595 -dDEVICEHEIGHTPOINTS=842 -dDuplex=false -r300 -sIjsParams=Quality:Quality=0,Quality:ColorMode=2,Quality:MediaType=0,Quality:PenSet=2,Quality:FullBleed=1,PS:MediaPosition=7 -dIjsUseOutputFD -sOutputFile=%stdout -" Error: /limitcheck in --array-- Operand stack: 114642 The PDF produced in d00122-001 renders fine with evince, but when I run it through cpdftocps the PostScript it produces contains the lines: xpdf begin 114642 array dup /ImData_7_0 exch def but the limit for GhostScript is 65535 elements in an array, so it throws a limitcheck. The same happens when I run gs on the output manually. When I scale the image down to 1632x1224, it prints fine. When I print the image to PDF, that PDF prints fine. The cpdftocps command line is /usr/lib/cups/filter/cpdftocps 122 ian img_0101.jpg 1 "PrintoutMode=High PageSize=A4 Quality=FromPrintoutMode Duplex=DuplexNoTumble InputSlot=Default number-up=1 job- uuid=urn:uuid:89275bd9-7476-3bae-5365-733be2479c4f" /var/spool/cups/d00122-001 > /tmp/d.ps I have the PDF and PostScript output, but they are 20MB and 33MB respectively, so I haven't attached them. ** Affects: gs-gpl Importance: Unknown Status: New ** Affects: poppler (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Confirmed -- Array too big when printing large image https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/311982 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to poppler in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
