What change do you to get made? Totem is not supposed to play everything from
the browser, cf http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314370 (plugin
should only handle embedded media) upstream. That is due to a firefox bug:

For the crash,
Crashes occur typically for all external session launches but do not
consistently. As I recall they occur the first time the browser is launched but
not the second time. I will recheck this more carefully if you would find it
useful
