So far, so good. I just opened 12 relatively large PDF files and I did

Thanks for following up. I have just managed to get Jaunty installed. It
was by far the most challenging Ubuntu installation ever for me. But I
have it running now, so I will test this and report back... (I may need
to take a rest from the computer for a day or so after this intense

Thank you for your interest in this bug. Are you sure you want me to
attach 8 to 10 large PDF documents here? In my experience it does not
matter which PDF documents I open. After a certain number of large
documents are open, Evince refuses to open any more, even if I have
plenty of system memory l
