Forgot to mention that using gnomevfs-ls also opens one connection per
file so it doesn't seem that this bug is specific to nautilus but to the
gnomevfs code.

I am also seeing this bug on Ubuntu Dapper Drake as a smb client when
connecting to samba on an NSLU2.

I've noticed there have been bugs reported that are similar (couldn't find them
first...) but they are old and have been closed.
I use the current version of nautilus, preview for files is set to local.
