I can also confirm the bug with the final version of 9.04, I have the
background color set to charcoal and the fonts have changed to white
accordingly but when I open a new tab it seems to use black as the
default font color for the new tabs :(

I can confirm the bug.
I just downloaded 9.04 final version, and the bug is still here.
I change Nautilus background by dragging Onyx from Colors to Nautilus
background and the color changes, also file names become white so I can see
them. Then I open a tab Ctrl+T, the background is Onyx which
