It looks like this has been fixed. When I typed "apt-get update" and
then "apt-get upgrade" it updated my gedit. Although it still says its
version gedit 2.24.2 in Help > About

Of coarse, Although this is happening to all my .txt/.php/.tcl, etc
files that I've edited via Gedit. Here is one of my files.
Also, I'm pretty sure its when you copy and paste from the text editor
its self using right click. But I'm not sure.
