Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
After upgrading to Jaunty, loading and storing folders is extremely slow on large mailboxes. For instance, it just took about 10 seconds for my inbox with 8449 messages to come up, and over 30 for another mailbox with 8652 messages, with the message "Generating message list" in the statusbar. In Intrepid it came up immediately. Additionally, switching views between "All Messages" and "Unread Messages" causes this delay. My home directory is on an NFS share, and during the delay I see high levels of NFS traffic, so it's apparently doing lots of file accesses that it didn't do before. This really kills usability, when I get a new message I don't want to go click on the folder and wait for it to load; I'll do something else and forget about it. If it weren't a regression I'd just attribute it to NFS slowness, but it worked fine in Intrepid. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Loading and storing folders is slow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/354869 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
