I am seeing this issue in Karmic after an upgrade from Jaunty.
Could not create message.
Because Cannot find certificat for 'cert name, you may need to
select different mail options.
Configuration is identical to the working one in Jaunty, except that my
certificate expired, and I replaced it.
This seems to works well on Jaunty with Evolution 2.26.1 :)
hum... I've upgraded to jaunty beta today.. and this doesn't works.. :/ I
should have missed something ! I'm quite sure that worked with Jaunty VM
tests...

there will probably be no intrepid update for that now, jaunty will be
stable in a week and shapes to be better quality than intrepid so you
should probably upgrade
