I tried to reproduce that here: I removed the /dev/sda1partition, unplugged,
replugged and only got /dev/sda and sda2. Then I created a partition sda1, but
it doens't get recognized until I replug the stick, and at that

it might be, that this only happenes at the moment, when you create the
partition.

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda1
i. e. I cleaned the first partition of my USB
