Previously installed gedit-dbgsym (2.22.3-0ubuntu2) and ran gdb
Just now installed libgtk2.0-0-0-dbg (2.12.9-3ubuntu5) and re-ran gdb
(gdb) handle SIG33 pass nostop noprint
SignalStop Print Pass to program Description
SIG33 NoNo Yes Real-time event
the stacktrace matches http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541645
and it indicates it's due to a buggy .gtk-bookmarks entry, the bug is
already fixed in jaunty

Followed the procedure to create a backtrace, but it failed as seen

did you enable the ddebs source as explained there? you can try
installing libgtk2.0-0-dbg and get a stacktrace

Idiot! I failed to change `jaunty' etc to `hardy' in source.list
Having done that, a backtrace, obtained as described, is attached.

the stracktrace indicates a gtk crash as expected, could you install
libgtk2.0-0-dbg as asked before and get a new one?
