Thanks, but that is not a bug. As suggested by the name of the configuration file (.bashrc), this file is for configuring bash only. gnome-panel is spawned by dash, so that will not work. If you want it to work, you should edit /etc/environment instead. ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) S
