That configuration dialog is deprecated in GNOME3 and Oneiric so closing
the bug, feel free to open new bugs about other issues you might find
though

Ubuntu better. A new version of GNOME Control Center is available on
Maverick and we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with

Since this feature is no longer in Ubuntu, I don't think it's possible
to test.

Err, I'd love to. But it appears the that the gnome-sound-properties
doesn't exist in Karmic or the repositories. All I'm getting is the
standard gnome-volume control stuff.
Was this removed for Karmic?

thank you for your bug report, I'm not confirming the issue but sounds
events work in an inconsistant way that's not new and is probably not
directory specific
