This issue also applies to Ubuntu 17.10. Double pasting from the scroll
wheel on the mouse occurs most of the time, but not all the time. Double
pasting occurs when pasting into RT, and when pasting into Alpine.

Ubuntu. I currently using 14.04 x64 but it happened in 12.04 x64, too.
In my case the multiple paste occurs sometimes NOT.
It means when I use it to paste the first 2 or 3 or 4 times I get the multiple
pastes but after that I
one thing to add: it happens in other terminals like terminator too.
same for editors etc so it is definitively not application related

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Also, please answer these questions:
* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
* May you test the same with a new user created on your system?
* Are you getting this
Yes - reproducible.
Stupidly, I'd not thought to try outside terminal but yes it's happening
in gedit too.
One new thing.. again every time.. copying within the terminal or within
