Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
During and after boot of Jaunty Jackalope (Alpha 3) 'gnome-settings- daemon' fails to start. Even after repeated attempts to restart the daemon it will not start. This problem only started occurring after upgrade for Intrepid Ibex to Jaunty Jackalope. The error reads: | Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon' | Without the Gnome settings manager running, some | preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem | with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager | may already be active and conflicting with GNOME settings | manager. This problem keeps all themes from loading leaving the GUI in its base format (e.g. Recovery Mode)... ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gnome-settings-daemon fails to start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375529 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
