system and put data on it?

"mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda,
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

Thanks for the files. They look a bit inconsistent, hal seems to have
recongnized the DVD, but g-v-m does not pick up anything at all. Also, the
'cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!' output looks strange.
After inserting the CD, is it mounted if you do
mount /cdrom

Alright, thanks. So, is /dev/hda actually your CD-ROM drive (plausible if you
have SATA hard disks) or an IDE hard disk? In the latter case it wouldn't be
surprising.

Do you use breezy? If so, do you have the latest pmount from breezy-updates
installed?
dpkg -s pmount | grep Version
should print 0.9.5-0ubuntu6 for Breezy.
