Folks, that's not funny. Changed the blank type to a more premium
product. Brasero stops again, this time after 83% of the data written to
disk. Error is always the same.

Uhmm, not quite sure whether this was by chance. The error occured for a
normal burn as well (s. attachment). Might by a problem of the blank
quality...
