Hi again - and thanks for getting back :) I do not use desktop effects as these have been deactivated since Jaunty and cannot be reactivated, probably due to graphics issues. The error occurs when one of the windows is set to be always on top. Start up 2 windows (e.g. Nautilus). Then start up Ryt
