This bug is
(a) known upstream,
(b) fixed upstream since 2.24.1, but
(c) the fix is reverted by a patch in the ubuntu package.
So this is entirely ubuntu's fault.

no, i've created another user to test it, but the situation is the same,
also removed the terminal's gconf keys, but it's the same. i think it's
gtk= problem. i am attaching my xsession-errors.
