Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue , in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install , that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of the project. yes this feature would be great to have but

It is reasonable to foresee that a user searching while using the keyboard , would expect to also navigate the folders using the arrow keys. This would be a low priority bug rather than a wishlist. Up/Down can be used to move across folders rather than toggle to next search. And the timeout
