Public bug reported: Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Severity: Normal Priority: (none set) Status: Unconfirmed
Description: I am running the latest Ubuntu development packages (gnome-panel 2.14.1-0ubuntu5). Description: I had a tall icon (a preview of a tall image) that I dropped over the Menu Bar (or near it) in my default gnome panel at the top of the display. The icon snapped down so that it was placed just beneath the panel on the desktop. This is the behavior I would expect. However, something very bad happened with the gnome panel. It became covered along its entire width with repeated renderings of the Menu Bar. I am attaching a screenshot. Repro: You can see the tall icon in the attached screenshot. Create something like it, and then try repeatedly dropping the preview icon onto your gnome panel somewhere over or near the Menu Bar. ** Attachment added: "Image showing munged gnome panel" http://librarian.launchpad.net/2277288/Screenshot-2.jpg -- Dropping a desktop icon over the panel causes horrible UI munging https://launchpad.net/bugs/40877 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
