I've followed the steps in my last post on Natty using the classic
desktop, and it appears the issue has been resolved. Changes appear to
be saved correctly now.

I have similar problems with gnome-session-properties, and have repeated
it on four other ubuntu 9.10 desktop systems.
It appears that some edits to startup programs under "Additional Startup
Programs:" are not saved. This can be demonstrated as follows:
1. Start gnome-session-properties from Sys
