I think there is still room for improvement here.
I have a dual-screen setup and the panel was not on the monitor that I
wanted it on. I could not figure out how to move to the second monitor.
I tried right clicking on it and dragging it, but neither works. The
Alt-Drag workaround mentioned here w

I cant add gnome-panel to second (non-default) monitor desktop.
Hi, I installed 9.10 and stumbled across this in my frustration. I can
confirm Matthews technique works and agree the appropriate hint/reminder
would be best placed in the UI context menus when right clicking a
panel. Thanks for the help.

Dan, can you confirm Matthew's way of adding panels to the second
screen? After that, if you still think the current way of handling this
is inappropriate, you should probably sent this bug upstream (have a

I don't think this is actually a missing feature, just a case of UI
change and poor documentation. To put a panel on the second monitor, add
it to the primary monitor, then hold + click + drag to move it to
the second monitor. This is described in the help, but is far from
intuitive.
